Conversations with a Therapist: A New Blog Series

My name is Heather, and I genuinely feel like I have the best job in the world.

Why? Because I get to talk with therapists about their amazing work everyday.

Welcome to my new blog series: Conversations with a Therapist.

As an award-winning book editor of sex therapy, couple therapy, and family therapy books, you would think a lot of my time is spent, well, reading. Although this is definitely true, the best parts of my role are the conversations I have with my clients – therapists.

Why make this blog series?

The compassionate conversations I have everyday with therapists is a privilege. Unless you are in a therapy room, you rarely get to speak or ask questions to a licensed professional about your sexual and/or mental health.

Accurate, available, and well-informed information is power. With misinformation being spouted everywhere, I wanted to create an accessible space where folks can find answers to some of their questions. Also, if any of the conversations leave you wanting more, this blog will connect you with some brilliant therapists and their other work so you can deepen your awareness and knowledge further.

What should I expect?

Moving forwards, each blog post will be a conversation with a therapist on a topic that they are a specialist in. Presented in a Q&A format, they will answer commonly asked questions that they receive in their practice and work.

I am hoping to be able to post these as often as possible.

I already have some brilliant posts lined up, and I can’t wait to share these conversations with you.

Let’s get talking.
