Hello, and welcome to my first blog post! It has taken a while, much to my upset, due to the busy antics of undergraduate life, but fear not – the stress of final year has meant I have consumed a lot of caffeine, as well as a lot of books.
Seeing as this is my first post, I want to write about a student-friendly business that fellow coffee lovers could enjoy. Although we all feel the pinch when counting our pennies, I feel like I have come across a business which means you can still fill your student (probably collapsing and cold) house with the aromatic aromas and warmth of proper coffee. This company is called Pact, and I’d love to tell you all about it.
Pact are a coffee company that delivers specialty coffee to your doorstep. Yes, you read that correctly. You don’t even need to leave your house, or get out of your slippers and dressing gown to retrieve your dose of caffeine that makes you feel human in the morning. Pact deliver your coffee to your abode in a letterbox sized package, which means you don’t even need to be in to sign for it.
Their are several reasons why Pact are so great, and here is a list of why I recommend their service:
- They trade directly with all of their farmers, ensuring their farmers get the right price. Doesn’t your coffee taste better when you know it’s ethically handled?
- The coffee is packaged to you within 7 days of being roasted, making the coffee as fresh as it can get.
- It’s delivered with a first class stamp – because nobody got time to be waiting for their morning medicine.
- They offer a decaf range, so if you like the taste but not the perk, they got you covered.
- They send you coffee you want. They really care about how you take your coffee, asking you questions to make sure they give you the best blend of either ground or coffee beans. You can request to have a random pick, or if you have a favourite, they will keep stocking you up – if it isn’t broke, why fix it?
- You can have deliveries as often as you like. Want a deliver every two weeks? Sure. Once a month? Absolutely.
- Finally, your brew doesn’t have to cost a bomb. If you look on their website, the price starts from around £6. If your addicted to your coffee as you are to Spotify Premium or Netflix, it is around the same cost!

Now, to my actual experience of the coffee. As you can see, the latest Pact coffee I have tried was the Fruit and Nut Expresso, which definitely possessed wintry vibes. With hints of milk chocolate, this was the perfect wake up treat; it was what I imagine drinking a coffee infused, Dairy Milk Fruit and Nut bar would be. Due to the hinting chocolate creaminess, it wasn’t the strongest tasting, which made it easy to drink, easing you into the day gently. Although I’m more of a strong coffee girl, it still had the kick I needed to get me going. If you are more of a subtle, sweeter coffee drinker, this might be one for you to try.

I feel like I could go on for a long time about how great Pact are, but I think you should go and try for yourselves. It is a great way for coffee novices, as well as coffee fanatics, to try different flavours without even stepping outside. It could be a perfect present for a friend or family member, because who wouldn’t love an endless supply of coffee for a few months?
Next time, I’ll write about the book I read whilst slurping this beauty up: A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh. With all the craziest going on in this world, sometimes I think it’s important to take it back a step, and, with Milne’s birthday recently being celebrated, we still can learn from some of the friendships and lessons he advocates. Especially when it comes from such a lovable bear.
Happy drinking!
Hev xo
